  • My Dining Room, London

    Friday May 21st, 2010

In terms of value for money, if you go for one of the home dishes at My Dining Room you are onto a winner and the al la carte is fairly priced. The food was very good; the idea of sharing plates a quirky addition that make it worth seeking out. This style of eating is especially suited to occasions when you want to encourage group interaction; birthdays, reunions, mandatory work outings; anytime when you might be stuck for conversation or need to build camaraderie.

  • The Bull, Westfield

    Monday April 12th, 2010

It is safe to say that The Bull is a restaurant whose success relies upon the convenience of its location. This is not a destination eatery; there won’t be a foodie pilgrimage to the Westfield. The Bull is a pub that does food rather than a ‘gastro pub’. But if you fancy a burger and a beer after conquering the commercial juggernaut, and you don’t go in with any great expectations, then you will probably have a fine time. Hopefully the Ham Hock Hash will still be on the menu.

  • To market, to market...or not.

    Wednesday March 17th, 2010

Walking out of my front door on a glorious early spring morning, carrying my hessian shopping bag, heading off to the farmers market to exchange happy banter and ten pound notes for a wild duck and some  plum chutney, I cannot help but feel like a rather smug ‘foodie’.  The emphasis on fresh, seasonal food makes my heart sing.
