Tike - two courses under a tenner
- Sunday January 17, 2010 11:59 am
Tike Grill and Bar, which opened at the end of last year, in the Lloyds Register Building adjacent to Fenchurch Street station, has just launched a £9.95 express lunch menu. The two-course lunch menu, available Monday to Friday, offers three options of starters and mains, including healthy house speciality grilled meats. Those looking for more extensive choice will find the value continues in the à la carte, which is available at both lunch and dinner times, where all main courses are priced under £10.
The express lunch menu reflects the Tike ideal of serving fresh, authentic, home-made Turkish dishes, offering a choice of warm starters, perfect during the current cold spell, including Pastirmali Houmus (hummus with sliced cured meat) to salads for those watching the calories this month, such as Ezme (spicy crushed tomato salad with herbs and onion relish.) Main courses vary from the Tike Donner (handmade using the choicest lamb cuts and slowly spit roasted by hand) and Veli Nazik (chopped chicken shish kebab served on a mild garlic, aubergine and yoghurt dip.) All courses are infused with traditional herbs and spices and are served with complimentary bread, baked on the premises, and yoghurt tzatsik dip.
A wine list, including several interesting Turkish options, is also well priced, starting from £3.25 per glass.
