Berber & Q Throws ‘Mechoui Alley’ Party To Celebrate The Launch Of Josh Katz’s Debut Cookbook

On Saturday 2nd June, Berber & Q is throwing its doors wide open for a ‘Mechoui Alley’ party to celebrate the launch of co-founder Josh Katz’s debut cookbook, BERBER & Q.

Guests will be able to feast on dishes from BERBER & Q, and can take their pick from dropping in to an all-day barbecue session on the terrace, booking a table for an exclusive brunch in the grill house, and dancing the night away as Berber & Q takes over at Archspace next door.

Kicking off the celebrations on the terrace at 11am, Berber & Q will be taking inspiration from the souks of Marrakesh with their very own ‘Mechoui Alley’: based on the world-famous street to the north of Jemaa el-Fnaa market that sells slow-roast meats by the kilo, Berber & Q will be setting up live fire pits by the canalside.

Barbecue lovers can drop by for quick dishes served straight from the flames, including spicy Marinated prawns with pil-pil sauce; juicy Sweet tea-brined quail with romesco sauce; and Minute steak yogurtlu with tomato gravy & Aleppo chilli butter, with every recipe taken from the BERBER & Q book.

Inside the arches diners can book a table for a one-off brunch with a Berber & Q twist, from 2-4.30pm. Josh will be working the grills in the kitchen, plating up signature dishes from the book including a decadent Merguez patty melt with goats’ cheese, confit shallots, rose harissa & walnuts; crispy Saffron buttermilk fried chicken with tahina gravy; and fluffy Campfire Moroccan pancakes, with poached pear, raisins & sweet labneh.

To match the bold flavours of brunch, punchy cocktails from BERBER & Q include the pistachio-infused, tequila-based Haggerstoned,  to the floral Habibi Funk.

As ever at Berber & Q, the party atmosphere will kick on well into the evening, as the restaurant takes over at their neighbours Archspace to recreate the ambiance of Marrakesh’s labyrinthine medina.
