Bexhill on Sea may not be as well known a foodie destination as Bray or Marlow, but it may just have the most unique restaurant of them all. At least when you look at it.
Tucked away on Southwick Street in W2, you’d be forgiven for not knowing about Delima, a new Malaysian restaurant. A few minutes walk away from the bustling hub of the Edgware Road and Paddington Station, the locale of this eatery may prove to be its secret weapon, along with its impressive cuisine served at affordable prices.
Dion’s lunch menu is more extensive than that for the evening which has its focus on bar food, though several of these are starter dishes from the lunch menu and we can assure you that these are not small. This is a great place for a lunch or an evening gathering during the week, the food is great.
Inside Dishoom it's as false as any other themed place in London. Packed with patina that you pay for and then install in great swathes. So what though? The pictures are actually rather interesting, the interior clean and bright and I am not eating the décor, even if some critics appear to be chewing the carpet.
There’s no doubt Dolada offers a real Italian experience quite unlike any others and for my money far better than Heinz Beck at Apsleys. The cotoletta could be cut from the menu and the lamb tagliatelle re purposed, but I’d go back just for a bucket of that Frico. It was friccing fantastic.
The title of this restaurant worried me. Not only does it have ‘Carry On’ connotations, it also sounds like the title of a hellish, low budget, box-ticking sitcom.
