Craved London - Xmas Hampers wiv an accent.

The Xmas hamper options get better every year, and you’ll ‘crave’ this one to be delivered to your door.
Xmas Hampers used to be a bit infra dig, the sort of thing businesses gave clients and full of things like stilton, port and pudding. Kind of welcome, but at the same time probably put to one side, the items often not the best quality. The port unbranded, the stilton lacking in veins.
A hamper though is great for remembering friends and relations who live too far away to visit. And with Craved you can be sure you’re sending something a bit special.
Craved’s strapline is ‘Curators of British Craft Food’ and you have to give the copywriter some credit - bonus points for use of buzzwords Curated and Craft, plus a bit of the old alliteration too.
The story (another good buzzword) is that this East London (bet you didn’t see that coming) company work with and support the country’s ‘most exciting independent producers’.
Teas, chocolates, chillies, chutneys, pickles, tonic waters, gins, beers, snack marshmallows, mushrooms - they have over 30 producers that they work with. Not all are based in Dalston or Hackney, but there does seem a bias that way.
The food is sent either in an elegant paper gift bag or handmade solid wood crate, with a handwritten gift note, and the range of choice is boggling. If you can’t find the exact match for your lucky recipient they must be on a no-food or drink diet.
For example the Christmas Indulgence Box contains Spiced Duck Rillettes made by Cornish Charcuterie, Bread & Butter Pickles made by Cwrtau Bach, Paprika Chilli Olives made by Silver & Green, Chorizo & Parmesan Savoury Biscotti made by The Great British Biscotti Co, Highlanders Shortbread made by Your Piece Baking Co, The Somerset Pomona made by Somerset Cider Brandy Co, Pear, Date & Ale Chutney made by England Preserves, Boeuf Bourguignon made by The French Kitchen, Sloe Whisky Liqueur made by Sloemotion, Grated Mexican Chocolate made by Cool Chile Company, Passion Fruit & Ginger Marshmallows made by the Marshmallowist and Cinnamon Candy Cane made by Spun Candy.
Sounds pretty good doesn’t it?
And as still as gin is still a thing, albeit somewhat surprisingly, what about Gin Trio? Old Tom Gin from Jensen, London Dry Gin from East London Liquor Company, and Sibling Triple Distilled Gin from Sibling Distillery.
Round here we’d really like to receive the Big Board of cheese and meat, with Golden Cenarth made by Caws Cenarth Cheese, Perl Wen Cheese made by Caws Cenarth Cheese, Coppa made by Beal's Farm Charcuterie, Cobnut & Red Wine Saucisson made by Moons Green Charcuterie, 5 Truffle Beer Sticks in Tube made by Moons Green Charcuterie and Muswell Hill - Colston Bassett.
There is such a wide choice you’ll find the minutes melting away as you browse, but while we are not at the ‘no time to lose’ stage just yet, you’d be advised to not hang about getting your order in for friends, family or favoured clients. Time’s a ticking to the 25th.
And you don’t want to miss out on satisfying someone’s craving, do you?
