Under direction from Kent-born Executive Chef, Mark Sainsbury, The Montagu Kitchen will offer fresh, British cuisine that taps into the seasonality of the Chartwell Gardens, and aims to put nature at the heart of its menus and interiors.

In the build-up to the restaurant’s revamp, Chef Mark and his team have visited Chartwell on numerous occasions to ensure the sights, smells and tastes of the gardens are brought to life in the new menu. The core offering will change every quarter, but there will be several daily and weekly specials throughout the seasons.

mcith_monty2.jpgFor September only and to celebrate the re-vamp, the restaurant is providing a 50% discount on the kitchen’s ‘most loved’ signature dishes on the A La Carte menu, when booked via Bookatable or called directly.

The Montagu Kitchen will also be offering up a selection of homemade, quintessentially British cakes and puddings on its daily dessert trolley, which will circle the room from noon every day.

Internationally celebrated for design and innovation, lifestyle brand Designers Guild, were asked to reinterpret the Chartwell Gardens through their renowned and inimitable use of colour, texture and pattern.

The serene and informal planting areas of the gardens were the focal point of inspiration for Designers Guild and so their Champ de Fleurs fabric was specially selected to adorn the restaurant's new seating arrangements.

Evocative of a summer meadow, the floral fabric depicts an array of wild flowers and is exquisitely hand drawn perfectly capturing the essence of nature and the spirit of the Chartwell Gardens.

Additionally, the floristry and botanical displays are being carefully created by leading florist Juliet Glaves, who is known for her organic approach to home-grown flowers, with Glaves having taken inspiration for The Montagu Kitchen from Chartwell’s natural landscape.

Overlooking the private gardens of Portman Square and just a short walk from Oxford Street and Marble Arch, The Montagu Kitchen is a modern British restaurant inspired by the year-round gardens at Chartwell, and launches mid-September, 2018. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
