Migrateful – London’s supper club-style events led by refugees who have undergone professional chef training – has launched another series of events, taking place across the capital throughout November.
Migrateful’s chefs teach their international cuisines to a group of guests in a fun and relaxed open cookery class class prior enjoying the meal together. All Migrateful chefs undergo rigorous training by qualified chefs and by teaching a class, they feel empowered through skill sharing, get to practice their English and share their story and earn some money.
Engaging with migrants struggling to access employment and who have a passion for cooking, the organisation helps rebuild their lives, enabling them to share their traditional cuisines. Chefs also share their often-tragic personal stories at these events, helping to break down cultural barriers and misconceptions.
Upcoming events include:
– Egyptian class with Ahmed at Mercato Metropolitano, Borough – 6 Nov
– Bengali cookery class with Nahida at the Duke of Cambridge, Islington – 12 Nov
