Acclaimed burrito chain Poncho 8 is expanding beyond the City – starting with a new store in Paddington, opening Wednesday 15th January.

Voted the best burrito in London by the Evening Standard, the sixth Poncho 8 store will feature a UK first – grab’n’ go Mexican food for speedy feeding of local office punters.

To celebrate the launch of the new store, Poncho 8 Paddington will be hosting pop-ups from various artisanal producers. In the first week of opening, Hackney-based coffee gurus Climpson & Sons will be serving a full barista coffee range made with Mexican coffee beans from 7:30am every day.

Gran Luchito and Gringa Dairy – London based producers of Mexican chilli sauces and Mexican cheese will also be exhibiting at the pop-up on the opening day.

Aside from the burritos which come with a range of fillings, highlights from the menu include Mexican spiced king prawn salad with avocado, mango salsa, lime and Poncho’s No. 8 dressing, Poncho’s pulled pork tortas (Mexican sandwiches) and homemade pan dulce (Mexican brioche).

We sampled both the chicken burrito and the Mexican king prawn salad and were impressed. The burritos were light and flavourful, in no way heavy as some can be, and the king prawns were firm and fresh with a lovely dressing.

We look forward to trying out the Paddington branch to see what they have in store.
