Bottomless sushi brunch Kiru style at £50 a head- now there’s no need to be koi
We enter into a bright contemporary room with an open kitchen complete with sushi counter. The chill-out music gives this restaurant a good weekend vibe ,the volume is just right, making it suitable to bring children or for a family meal.
The staff are smart and attentive which goes well with the bottomless concept, our glasses were always topped up . Prosecco White wine ( Picpoul de Pinet) and Sake were the alcoholic beverages on tap all perfectly quaffable.
What a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with friends and family grazing and chatting at an all inclusive price , in this case £50 per head £20 for kids.
To start the cold buffet counter had a good and varied selection. The Nobu spirit came through with the sashimi tacos and new style sashimi. A great compliment and only to be expected as exec chef Taiji Maruyama has had 9 years experience at Nobu under his belt.
The mains were hearty and the only let down was the Shrimp and vegetable tempura, the batter was a little heavy and I personally like a lot of grated daikon in my dipping sauce ,in this case there seemed to be hardly any. The mains were accompanied with rice and /or salad which had a moorish dressing and of course miso soup.
The dessert was a selection of ice creams and the texture was smooth with great flavours, I loved the green tea while my partner had chocolate which barely touched the sides.
The cocktail menu at kiru is definitely worth checking out, it’s beautifully illustrated and I fancied quite a few of those concoctions but that’s for next time.
We will certainly be back to enjoy another Kiru experience .
