Vori, the contemporary Greek taverna based in London’s Holland Park, is delighted to announce the next in its ever-popular series of events celebrating Greece’s rich viticultural heritage.
On 5th November, Vori will host “A Love Letter to Xinomavro”, a unique wine-paired menu honouring the spirit and terroir of Greece’s most exciting grape.
Hosted by Ipek Leni Candan, founder of Pale Ruby Wine, the five-course menu begins with Gemista, a slow-roasted pepper filled with rice, herbs & tomato sauce served with Greek yoghurt and paired with Karanikas ‘Cuvée Prestige’ Extra Brut, Assyrtiko/Xinomavro 2017, Macedonia.
Next comes Lukaniko – venison sausage with home-made pita, caramelised onions, tomato sauce & Graviera – complemented by Magoutes ‘Vieilles Vignes Blanc’, Xinomavro 2024, Macedonia.
The evening continues with Musakas, layered aubergine, potato, minced meat & smoky Metsovone, paired with Melitzani Xinomavro 2017, Naoussa PDO.
Then, Stifado, 12-hour slow-braised rabbit legs with pearl onions, meets the refinement of Dalamara ‘Paliokalias’ Xinomavro 2021, Naoussa PDO.
To finish, Chantilly, a filo pastry layered with Chantilly cream, honey & chocolate, is elevated by Magoutes Liastos, Xinomavro/Moshomavro/Nigrikiotiko 2008, Macedonia.
