Mr Fogg’s opens Its largest tavern yet in Covent Garden with The Guinness Saloon taking centre stage

Right in the heart of Covent Garden’s historic Market Building it can seat 130 guests inside, plus a further 60 on its striped covered terrace.

Housed beneath original brick arches and set across flagstone floors, a series of interconnected spaces offers everything from bar stools for casual drinks to booths for groups of up to eight, making it equally suited to long lunches, post-work pints and lively evening gatherings. Open daily from 11am, the terrace accommodates parties of two to twelve.

A highlight of the new opening is The Guinness Saloon, inaugurated by broadcaster, writer and Guinness aficionado Jack Guinness. Dedicated to Ireland’s most famous stout, the room has its own Guinness bar and a live counter tracking every pint poured. Every 1,000th pint earns its drinkers a place on the Tavern’s Wall of Fame and a complimentary round, while the customer who orders pint number 10,000 will win an all-expenses-paid trip to the Guinness brewery in Dublin.

Alongside Guinness, beers include Modelo and Madri. Signature punches range from the Champagne-topped Punch & Juicy to the fruit-forward A Fruity Punchline, while favourite cocktails from across the Mr Fogg’s collection include the crisp Burlington Martini and the bold Perfect Timing, made with Patrón Silver tequila, pink grapefruit and chipotle chilli.

The food menu includes double-cooked chips, crisped in beef dripping (with a vegan alternative available), London-style beer-battered haddock with homemade tartare sauce, and loaded chips topped with Guinness-braised pulled beef or a four-cheese melt.

A selection of dips—including Guinness gravy, curry sauce, vegan feta & nduja and Bloody Mary—adds an extra flourish, while a menu of sharing plates is designed for grazing over drinks. A traditional Sunday roast will join the menu this autumn.
