Flame & Smoke is a new one-night, after-hours celebration of fire cooking at Borough Market. It aims to showcase how diverse and sophisticated cooking over flame, charcoal and wood can be.

  • When: Thursday 10 September 2026, 6.30–9.30pm
  • Where: Borough Market’s Green Market, extending into the open-air space beside Southwark Cathedral.
  • Entry: £7 + booking fee; food and drink are purchased separately.
  • Food: One-off small plates and tasters created by Borough Market traders and restaurants, with cuisines spanning Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Mediterranean and beyond.
  • Cooking: Live-fire demonstrations, masterclasses and chef/producer Q&As covering everything from getting the perfect sear to low-and-slow smoking.
  • Host: Shauna Guinn of Hang Fire BBQ, with a central fire pit and demonstration stage.
  • Atmosphere: A communal food-hall setup, drinks, and a live DJ throughout the evening.
  • Confirmed participants: The Black Pig, Kolae, The London Cider House, Mei Mei, Oak & Smoke, Padre, Porteña, Utobeer and Wyndham House Poultry, with more expected.

In short: it’s essentially a £7 ticketed BBQ/fire-cooking night where you can graze on specially created dishes, watch expert chefs cook over fire, and enjoy Borough Market after hours—rather than a conventional sit-down dinner.
