To celebrate Virgin Atlantic’s brand new service from London Heathrow to Cancun launching this October, Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch is serving up a new twist on a British tradition.

Launching exclusively for Afternoon Tea Week (11–24 August), Afternoon Tea-quila is available at Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch, serving up fiery Mexican flair with a British twist. Designed by Executive Chef Barry Vera, the limited-edition tea offers a bold, playful take on teatime classics.
Inspired by Virgin Atlantic’s signature Mile High Tea and the airline’s new route to Cancun, the menu invites guests to chip, sip, and dip their way through a series of unexpected pairings, including:
- Earl-garita – Earl Grey meets chilli-lime perfume in a theatrical table-side cocktail
- The Finger Fruitwich – A reimagined finger sandwich with chipotle steak and salted chilli, layered between compressed watermelon
- Strawburrito – A grilled strawberry “burrito” filled with lemon balm crème fraîche and dulce de leche
- Bone Voyage Tacos – Prawn tacos with rich bone marrow salsa, topped with tequila and lime foam
- Mexi-scone – A savoury scone of Montgomery cheddar and jalapeño butter, topped with sticky short rib for maximum indulgence
Reservations must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice, and the tea will be served in Hidden Grooves at Virgin Hotel London-Shoreditch. Bookings will be available here
