The annual Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival is again being held on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 August

The free entry two-day event (10am-5pm) over the late summer bank holiday weekend in Suffolk’s foodie capital will feature live food and drink demonstrations in the Chefs on Stage Cookery Theatre from local eateries, plus a farmers’ market and family street entertainment.

A highlight will be an appearance by Ching-He Huang MBE demonstrating her trademark ‘minimum fuss, maximum flavour’ ethos on Monday, 25 August.

An ambassador for Chinese cooking with numerous TV shows and cookery books to her name, Ching-He will also host three demonstrations by chefs from some of the town’s most popular eateries. Among these are festival veteran Zack Deakins, chef-patron of AA three rosette 1921 on Angel Hill and chefs from the new fine dining Bellota restaurant.

Ching-He has hosted ‘Chinese Food Made Easy’ for the BBC as well as ‘Exploring China – A Culinary Adventure’ with Ken Hom and participated in many other favourites including ‘Saturday Kitchen’.
