Engel, the cocktail bar and restaurant at The Royal Exchange, is launching the Marlene Brunch, a new Saturday series bringing together live music, theatrical performances, and, of course, brunch

The programme launches on 18th October with a performance from Selina Albright, known for her soulful, multi-genre vocals and evocative songwriting.

An homage to Marlene Dietrich, whose film Der Blaue Engel inspired Engel’s name, the series will feature soul, retro jazz, and burlesque performances, bringing a new spirit to the City’s brunch scene.

On 25th October, the spotlight turns to Miss Jolie Papillon, Burlesque Idol UK winner and star of the world-renowned La Clique. The series continues with Ronnie Scott’s regular Natalie Williams, celebrated Voice UK winner Jermain Jackman, and the Atila Huseyin

Inside the impressive portals of The Royal Exchange, Engel is a bar inspired by the hedonism and glamour of 1920s Berlin. Think the stage show Cabaret. With fancy interiors and a little soupcon of old- world decadence, it offers the perfect stage.

The performances are backed by a brunch menu, created by Engel chefs Samantha Williams and Lorena Tomassi.

Choose from two or three courses, including house signatures such as Steak and Eggs or traditional Apfelstrudel.

There’s unlimited Spritz or Fizz, and half-price bottles of Ruinart champagne, the ultimate Saturday indulgence.
