The annual Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival is again being held on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 August (10am-5pm) over the late summer bank holiday weekend in Suffolk’s foodie capital.

The free entry two-day event will feature live food and drink demonstrations by chefs from some of the town’s most popular establishment in the Chefs on Stage Cookery Theatre plus a variety of stalls, a farmers’ market and family street entertainment.

A highlight will be an appearance by Ching-He Huang MBE, demonstrating her trademark ‘minimum fuss, maximum flavour’ approach to Chinese cooking on bank holiday Monday, 25 August. An ambassador for Chinese cooking with numerous TV shows and cookery books to her name, Ching-He will present her delicious recipes with three demonstrations.

Ching-He has hosted ‘Chinese Food Made Easy’ for the BBC as well as ‘Exploring China – A Culinary Adventure’ with Ken Hom and participated in many other favourites including ‘Saturday Kitchen’.

Other chefs from the town’s eateries set to appear in the Cookery Theatre on both Sunday 24 August and Monday 25 August include festival veteran Zack Deakins, chef-patron of AA three rosette 1921 on Angel Hill and chefs from the new fine dining Bellota restaurant.

Many other town centre businesses will be participating in the event either with a stall or on the stage. The Angel Hotel, Lotties Waffles, Beautiful Beers, Wine Cellar and Peck are just some of those who’ll be tempting the tastebuds of visitors.  Across the festival there will also be stalls selling international cuisine including Albanian and Greek while Norfolk Doggy Deli and Untamed cat food will be offering tasty treats for pets.

The festival also offers a number of attractions for all the family including mini-golf, a helter-skelter and fairground rides.
