This Mother’s Day, La Maritxu, London’s Basque cheesecake specialist has a limited-edition Earl Grey cheesecake to celebrate mums.

Founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife team Lucia and Ignacio, La Maritxu is a growing London café collection dedicated to authentic Basque cheesecake. Now with three locations — including a new Greenwich opening — and more planned for 2026, the brand continues to build a loyal following.

A former architect, Lucia brings precision and passion to her family’s generations-old recipe. From their Bethnal Green kitchen, over 300 cheesecakes are baked daily using cream cheese, double cream, sugar and eggs, creating the classic light texture and caramelised top inspired by Bilbao.

Available by the slice or whole (mini or large), the signature cheesecake sits alongside limited editions like Tiramisu and Raspberry Chocolate, with new flavours in development.
