Each chef will host a special one-night-only dinner at Chapel Down’s Kent winery

To celebrate the talent shaping the country’s evolving food scene, Chapel Down has named three chefs whose cooking captures the diversity, creativity and confidence of modern British cuisine. The announcement follows the inaugural Taste of England programme, which brought together some of the UK’s leading food and wine voices to identify chefs pushing English gastronomy forward.

Selected from across the country, the winners each offer a distinct perspective on contemporary dining.

At Gravetye Manor in West Sussex, Martin Carabott draws inspiration from the estate’s gardens, creating dishes that place seasonality and provenance at the centre of the plate. In Devon, Simon Hulstone continues his long-standing commitment to local sourcing, showcasing the ingredients of Britain’s coastline and countryside through refined yet approachable cooking. Meanwhile, Ethan Pack of Three Sheets Soho represents a younger, more experimental generation, combining exceptional British produce with techniques and flavour influences from around the world.

Despite their different styles, all three chefs share a belief that great British cooking begins with outstanding ingredients and a willingness to look beyond tradition. Their winning menus demonstrate how English cuisine has evolved into something more dynamic, diverse and internationally influenced than ever before.

The chefs were selected by a panel of respected food and wine experts, including wine journalist Libby Brodie, Ascot Racecourse’s Jonathan Parker and Chapel Down Head Winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire.

As part of the programme, each chef will host a special one-night-only dinner at Chapel Down’s Kent winery this summer, giving guests the opportunity to experience their award-winning menus paired with English sparkling wines. Their dishes will also feature at major events including Ascot’s King George Weekend and the Ascot Big Food & Wine Festival.

The initiative forms part of Chapel Down’s wider efforts to champion the people, produce and ideas driving Britain’s food culture forward.

As part of their prize, each chef will host a one-night-only Taste of England dinner at The Swan at Chapel Down, the winery’s two AA Rosette restaurant. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the chefs’ full winning menus, paired with Chapel Down sparkling wines and served in the heart of the Garden of England.
