Bamboo Mat Canary Wharf has officially opened its doors, bringing the acclaimed Nikkei cuisine, a vibrant fusion of Japanese culinary precision and Peruvian flavour – to E14 London.

Following the success of its Stratford restaurant, the independent brand has launched in the new location.

Spanning 364 square metres across two floors, the new restaurant offers 92 covers, featuring an elegant raw bar and cocktail lounge on the ground floor, with additional dining and an open-plan kitchen upstairs.

The opening marks an exciting new chapter for Bamboo Mat, a restaurant that has become one of London’s leading voices in the Nikkei dining movement since opening in 2022.

The à la carte menu brings together Bamboo Mat favourites alongside exciting new creations.

The creations include Hamachi Tiradito with yuzu truffle soy, daikon and aji amarillo. Ceviche Deluxe, featuring mixed seafood with roasted pepper leche de tigre.

And the bright and vibrant Seabass Ceviche with mango and passionfruit and Tuna Tartar with avocado, shiso ponzu and rice crackers.

Spicy Bluefin Tuna Maki, decadent Unagi Foie Gras and the show-stopping Bamboo Mat signature Volcano Maki with salmon, seabass and asparagus – which is flame-torched to finish at the table.

Meanwhile, the Robata Grill cooked over charcoal, features Slow-cooked Ox Cheek with yuzu gravy and Lamb Chops glazed with anticucho.

As well as premium A4 Wagyu Steak available in 150g and 300g cuts and Grilled Seabass with Amazonian sauce.
