La Petite Maison (LPM) has unveiled its latest creation: Déjà Vu, an innovative new cocktail menu conceived as a vintage French editorial magazine.

A tribute to the Golden Age of the French Riviera, Déjà Vu weaves the sun-drenched nostalgia of the 50s – 90s with LPM‘s signature approach to contemporary mixology.

As the name suggests, Déjà Vu invites guests to explore the cocktail menu as they would a classic magazine, flipping through stories from a time when the French Riviera was the epicenter of style and culture, immersing themselves in a bygone era.

Each drink on the menu is framed as a unique editorial article, drawing inspiration from iconic cultural moments throughout history across fashion, art, music and sport that have shaped the glamour of the Côte d’Azur.

From the moment the Hermes Birkin made its mark on fashion history after Jean-Louis Dumas and Jane Birkin’s serendipitous meeting on a plane, to Graham ‘Mr Monaco’ Hill’s incredible record of victories at the Monaco Formula 1, and the ultimate St Tropez sex symbol, Brigitte Bardot, making the bikini famous at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival.

Déjà Vu tells the stories of icons that have made the South of France the emblem of true style, sophistication and laid-back glamour that it is today.

Alongside the new cocktails, the magazine includes retro elements such as horoscope pages and crosswords.

The new cocktails come offering fresh serves inspired by the classics, made extra special with various gifts and garnishes such as a silk scarf to keep with a Birkin cocktail or a song to listen to on a cassette player when sipping on Douliou Douliou.

LPM’s collection of 10 cocktails is also mirrored with a non-alcoholic version of each, allowing non-drinking guests to enjoy the interactive beverages and immerse themselves in the Déjà Vu magazine in exactly the same way.

LPM emphasises craftsmanship not compromise, the mirrored Déjà Vu menu gives non-alcoholic cocktails the same level of technique, ingredients and experience as their alcoholic counterparts, reflecting the growing movement towards health consciousness.

As pointed by my non drinking guest, who is on “Dry Autumn” challenge, stating they were the best non alcohol cocktails she has tried so far.

Highlights include:

●        Birkin – A twist on the Americano, this bright orange hued beverage is reminiscent of the original Hermes Birkin, made with Charentais melon, Bacardi Cuantro Anejo, Vermouth blend and light tonic water, served with a custom French silk scarf on the stem.

●        Douliou Douliou – A refreshing take on the Pina Colada featuring a blissful blend of Coconut, Pineapple, Remy Martin VSOP, Mount Gay Rum and Telmont Réserve Brut Champagne, garnished with an edible umbrella. For an added element of nostalgia, this cocktail is served with a vintage walkman that will play Douliou Douilou St Tropez by Raymond Lefevre and Genevieve Grad, the iconic song penned for the film ‘Le Gendarme de St Tropez’, with Douliou meaning ‘sweet places’ in Provencial language.

●        Soleil – a G&T with a sunny twist inspired by the Fragonard’s iconic Soleil fragrance – an eau de parfum that evokes the floral fields of Grasse under the midday sun. The Soleil cocktail is made with specially curated LPM gin in collaboration with 44°N Gin, bergamot and mandarin, served in a bespoke soda bottle alongside a sample of the perfume.
