Chocolates are deliciously addictive for some of us and scientists say that they can have health benefits in moderation, and now they are educational too.

Since the beginning of July the Parisian luxury chocolatier, La Maison du Chocolat, has been running new Chocolate Tasting sessions at their Piccadilly store. Their chocolate experts take the participants on a journey of discovery, from the harvest of the fruit and the careful selection of the freshest products to their transformation into a delicate chocolate ganache.

Guests get to sample a range of couvertures, plain chocolate ganaches and pralines and they are also invited to try various chocolates to distinguish the different notes and intensities influenced by the chocolates origins and its cocoa percentages. It’s simply a chocolicious treat.

And if that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, there is also the opportunity to prepare a flavoured chocolate ganache and taste it while it’s still warm!

The two hour sessions cost £50 with a maximum of 12 people per indulgent session although private and corporate sessions are also available.

The next chocolate tasting session will take place on the August 21st. From September, sessions will be held twice a month on a Saturday afternoon.

You can visit the La Maison du Chocolat boutique at 45-46 Piccadilly, London.
