On Saturday 28th November, 67 Pall Mall will be hosting a virtual Indian cook along with food writer, cookbook author and founder of Sizl Spices Maillika Basu.

mcith_Tasting-Kit-Image-1024x771.jpgLearning about Indian food and wine pairings is fascinating – whether it’s to soften the spice or enhance the heat, there will be a glass to suit any preference.

With powerful, contrasting flavours, understanding wines and spicy food is a box to tick for acquiring new skills this lockdown.

During the two hour event, guests will be shown how to prepare and cook a three-course Indian dinner from home, with Mallika demonstrating the basics of classic Indian cooking, along with her expert tips and techniques to perfect the feast.

Catering to all dining preferences (vegetarian and vegan), each of the dishes will be expertly paired with wines from 67 Pall Mall’s sommelier Nelson Pari.

All instructions and pre-preparation guidance will be sent ahead of Saturday and Nelson’s selection of 6 wines to pair (each 75ml pours) will be delivered to a chosen address.

On the menu:

Starter

Onion Pakoras & tamarind chutney

Main course

Spinach & Garlic Dal

Vegetable or Chicken Kurma (South Indian recipe with curry leaves and coconut milk – the popular Korma is a North Indian dish made with yoghurt)

Peas Pulao

Dessert

Bhapa Doi, Bengali Saffron & Cardamon Cheesecake

Those who would like to join the cooking and wine pairing session can purchase and join the Virtual Members’ Club at a very reasonable monthly price of £10.
