Chai Ki have introduced the Slow Burn Brunch menu, celebrating spice and chilli. Created by Founder, Rohit Chugh, new dishes will feature the full spectrum of Indian spices; adding warmth, earthiness, sweetness, smoke and for those who want it, layers of heat.

‘Spice increases metabolism and gives you an adrenalin rush as well as a host of other health benefits. The brunch menu at Chai Ki isthe perfect way to kick start weekends and the New Year. Of course spice means much more than just heat and we have incorporated cinnamon, fennel, Kasundi mustard, Tellicherry black pepper, turmeric and our own garam masala blend. Chilli is a great hangover cure and for those who do like it hot, we have a selection of brunch sauces which guests can order to fire things up.’

Brunch highlights include; Miso Curry Leaf Scrambled Eggs, Indian-style’bhurji’ eggs with curry leaf, turmeric and a hint of miso for an umami lift; a new version of the much loved Toddy Shop Burger with 28 day dry-aged beef,’Byadgi’chilli & bacon chutney and’Kasundi’ mustard; and for those who prefer things a little sweeter,’Chaas’ Buttermilk Pancakes – a three-high stack made with’chaas’, a traditional Indian buttermilk cooler, and served with blueberries, honey and maple syrup.

Brunch sauces will range from the mild, sweet and sour Tamarind Ketchup, to the punchy Green Chilli Chutney (made to an old family recipe) and for chilli fiends the signature Agni’Fire’ Sauce, made with Naga’Ghost’ chilli and not for the faint hearted.

There will be restorative drinks such as the Reincarnation, Chai Ki’s take on the Bloody Mary, as well as a selection of fizz including Bellinis topped with Prosecco; Badam Bellini, a combination of peach & almond; Lychee Rose Bellini with rose-petal liqueur and lychee; Wild Strawberry & Chai Bellini with chai spices (£6 per Brunch Bellini, £15 for a flight of 3 Bellinis).  For those preferring soft drinks, to put out the fire, there will be the Chai Shake, a chai spiced caramel milkshake and Kovalam Beach, a blend of guava, coconut and ginger ale.
