With its floor-to-ceiling windows and seafood-focused menu, Leandro Carreira’s restaurant and wine bar, Londrino, is channeling a Portuguese summer in London Bridge, with an entire festival dedicated to Portugal’s most popular fish – the humble sardine – with a little help from friends José Pizarro and Brett Redman.

Until June 23rd, sardines, sardines and more sardines will be served up by Chef Leandro Carreira at Londrino restaurant and bar as a nod to one of his favourite Portuguese festivals – the annual Lisbon Sardine Festival – the Feast of St. Anthony.

Grilled, pickled and tinned versions of the versatile sardine will be served up all day and night in both the restaurant and bar, with sangria and Superbock beer both joining the menu for the first time.

Hackney’s acclaimed Portuguese Love Affair will also be popping up at the festival, with an installation of their iconic tinned sardines available to buy and eat at the bar.

To celebrate the festival’s close on June 23rd, Londrino will be throwing a Sardine Party with London Bridge neighbours José Pizarro and Brett Redman, who will join forces with Leandro with each chef cooking up a different sardine dish for guests.

Carafes of sangria and cold beers will flow and platters of sardines served with bread will be dished out in Londrino’s restaurant, bar and terrace from 1pm till 10pm.
