To celebrate the season of full floral blooms, Quaglino’s has teamed up with The Meringue Girls on an exclusive Martini & Meringue Pop-Up cocktail and dessert bar until 30th June 2017. We popped along to try.

With all the colours and flavours of the season, the Martinis & Meringues menu at Quaglino’s showcases four Martini cocktails created especially by Head Bartender Davide Arruci. Made with Moët Chandon, Belvedere and Hennessy VSOP, each Martini will be served alongside different flavours of mini meringue kisses – Sour Cherry, Pistachio & Rose, Gin & Tonic and Raspberry.

The special edition cocktails are:  – Cherry Kiss (a twist on the Aviation Gin) featuring Belvedere instead of gin, parfait d’amour liquor and crème de mure – served with Sour Cherry meringue kiss – French Kiss featuring vodka, fresh raspberries, pineapple juice and crème de framboise served straight up – Served with raspberry meringue kiss

Classy Kiss featuring a mix of Hennessy VSOP, bergamot liquor and grapefruit topped with Moët & Chandon champagne – served with Gin & Tonic meringue kiss – Rose Kiss (a twist on the classic Mai Tai) featuring Hennessy, rose water, lychee juice, orgeat syrup and lemon juice – served with Pistachio & Rose meringue kiss

To accompany the floral inspired Martinis, Executive Pastry Chef Jack Smith, has extended the trend into the Mezzanine Bar by curating sensory Dessert Menu. Dishes consist of a deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie, a Strawberry & Rose Pavlova, Beehive Meringues served on a Honey & Thyme Tart and finally a twist on the classic Peach Melba.

We tried the Beehive Meringue and the Peach Melba and they were absolutely sensational, it was only the fact that we had to go to dinner later that stopped us stuffing down even more. As for the cocktails, they tasted as good as they looked, so they were very good indeed.

In addition, guests will be wowed by a special installation made with The Meringue Girls signature meringue kisses and flowers especially for the pop up.

The #Blossomcity17 campaign will once again support The Gynaecological Cancer Fund’s Lady Garden Campaign with £1 from each bill across the D&D group donated to the charity.
