September will see the arrival of Loyal Tavern in Bermondsey from Tom Cenci (former executive chef at Duck & Waffle) and Adam White (Riding House Café).

mcith_LOYAL.jpgLoyal Tavern will add to Bermondsey’s exciting food scene the best of seasonal British produce in the relaxed neighbourhood environment that was previously Bermondsey institution, Village East.

Tom’s education began in Michelin restaurants in Paris and London before his journey to remote locations in Istanbul and Canada. Brought about by a love of local sustainable ingredients, Cenci’s produce-led menu provides for simple dishes such as Cornish mackerel with apple, pine nut and truffle or venison tartar with beef dripping.

Daily specials will also feature dishes such as rib of retired dairy cow or gurnard with crab bisque, carrot and seaweed.

Seasonality continues in the drinks with Bar Manager, Antonio Del Monte (previously The Ned and Soho House Group), with seasonal botanicals in punch bowls alongside a wine program which sees natural, new world, British and international wines carefully paired to match the dishes.

Wine flights will be available to order alone, in three different measurements and there will be a broad beer selection.

The former textile factory’s interiors have been given a Tavern makeover with 100 covers, two bars and a private dining room.
