The retro arcade game and classic console venue NQ64 has just announced London-based burger Nanny Bill’s as their sole food trader.

NQ64 is an arcade destination for all retro gaming enthusiasts, think Mario, Packman and X-men., as well as favourites like Guitar Hero, Street Fighter and Time Crisis. There are also new gaming additions, including ‘Pop-A-Shot’ (that basketball shooting game) and a ‘Wall Boy’; which elevates the game boy to a large screen for all your mates to watch you fail at Super Mario.

The venue launched in Shoreditch last year and recently welcomed a tasty burger brand Nanny Bill’s to their doors. Nanny Bill’s are known for their tasty, gravy dipped, hand-pressed burgers and innovative croquettes with flavours such as mac and cheese and smoked beef brisket.

Their menu features both beef and chicken burgers with delicious toppings such as Burnt Butter Mayo, American Cheese, Bacon Bits and Caramelised Onions to name a few. While the sides include Aggy Fries – fries slathered with Nanny Bill’s Garlic Mayo, Hot Sauce and topped with Spring Onions.

Nanny Bill’s have taken the casual dining scene by storm since launching in Shoreditch in 2015 with pop-ups everywhere from Smorgasburg in Los Angeles to John Lewis Rooftop in Oxford street, more recently settling permanently all across the capital at their own locations.

In what is somewhat of a homecoming, they are returning to East London once again in collaboration with NQ64 Shoreditch as the ideal partner for the neon splattered drinking and gaming den.

Taking as much pride in its drinks selection as it does in its games, NQ64 arcade bar serves game-themed cocktails like the Power Star Martini – a twist on a passionfruit martini served with a Pink Hooch, the Dr Ro Bev Nik, a cherry Old Fashioned, and the Kong Island Iced Tea, inspired by Donkey Kong.

I was pleasantly surprised by their cocktails as I watched closely the bartenders preparing them. Often gaming or mini golf venues are guilty of using mixers to ease the the cocktail prep. But not this pone, they create them from scratch, the end result – high quality cocktails.

In addition to the game inspired cocktails there’s an extensive offering of craft beers, wines, spirits, sodas and non-alcoholic cocktails, as well as a bunch of old-school childhood favourite snacks such as Space Raiders & Monster Munch – all the fun of childhood, but just for the adults now.

To celebrate Nanny Bill’s residency there’s also a limited edition burger special available from 13th March for a month – The Space Raider Burger and Space Raider Fries.

An aged beef patty, beef flavour ‘space raider’ mayo, smoked bacon, sliced pickled baby onion and American cheese on a glazed bun topped with a Space Raider and Space Raider Fries topped with pickled onion space dust, beef space raider mayo and chives.
