Belmond reveals this year’s line-up of exclusive’pop-up’ dining events aboard Belmond British Pullman, opening with the ultimate gin experience, followed by a series of dinners hosted by celebrated television personalities and Michelin starred restauranteurs – this year with the new addition of Michel Roux Jr.

A highly anticipated part of the train’s annual calendar, the series of intimate journeys will see just 100 guests at a time enjoy the individual culinary flairs of each multi-course tasting menu – an occasion to indulge in the true’Art of Gastronomy’ aboard the iconic carriages.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF GIN

The series kicks off on 10 May 2018 with a specially curated gin experience with premium gin Tanqueray No. TEN. Guests will be whisked back to the charm of the roaring twenties while served a menu of seven uniquely crafted dishes that bring to life the citrus botanicals of Tanqueray No. TEN, paired with matching cocktails.

For those keen to learn more, the silver service dinner will be followed by a specialist masterclass with Tanqueray’s Brand Ambassador, who will help to create the perfect Tanqueray No. TEN gin martini featuring an array of citrus fruits, herbs and spices.

Inspired by the golden age of travel and known to pen his adventures in the early 1800s in his treasured travel diary, Charles Tanqueray himself, the mastermind behind the iconic Tanqueray gin, often travelled by luxury train. Set in the carriages of Belmond British Pullman, each with their own unique and rich history to share, guests will be immersed in an unforgettable journey of contemporary nostalgia from start to finish.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Next to take over the galley-kitchens on 21 July 2018, will be British celebrity Tom Kerridge, one of TV’s most affable chefs and owner of the country’s most sought out and only two Michelin-starred pub, Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Returning for his fifth year of excellence onboard, Tom will showcase his passion for adding a modern twist to classic British dishes – creating an exclusive’pop-up pub’ within the vintage carriages.

This year also sees Michel Roux Jr, one of Britain’s most highly regarded two Michelin-starred chefs and TV personalities take to the elegant surroundings of Belmond British Pullman. On 28 September 2018, Michel will embrace his training and vast experience in classical French cookery and serve up a menu of specially crafted courses.

On 16 November guests will enjoy the culinary delights of James Martin for the fifth season, with a heart-warming menu inspired by his Yorkshire roots. A comforting theme will be felt throughout, connecting guests with James’s love for nostalgic recipes from his childhood, combined with flavours and twists acquired during his years of cooking and travelling in France.

Regarded as some of London’s most exclusive and luxurious culinary events, guests are invited to start at Belmond British Pullman’s private lounge, before boarding the original 1920s art deco carriages for an evening steeped in glamour, as the train travels on a round trip journey through the British countryside.
