UK’s only wine bar dedicated solely to wines from the Rioja region of Spain to hold a celebratory wine festival on Saturday, 14th June

Tickets are now on sale for Bar Rioja’s very first Rioja Wine Festival to be held in the Varnisher’s Yard courtyard Bar Rioja shares with sister restaurant and tapas bar Camino in King’s Cross.

Showcasing the best traditional and modern styles, the festival will feature 15 bodegas and 18 wines from across the region, food from executive group chef Nacho del Campo and live music. As 2025 also marks the 100th anniversary of the official creation of Rioja wines denomination of origin – the oldest D.O. in Spain, there’s no better time to celebrate one of the most popular wines in the UK.

Inspired by the biannual “Barrio de la Estacion Cata de Vinos” regional tasting event in the historic town of Haro in the Rioja Alta sub-region, Bar Rioja’s oenophile founder Richard Bigg decided to invite some of his favourite wine suppliers from across Rioja region to take part. Once a region steeped in tradition, with its justifiably popular (and now better than ever) oak-aged wines, today Rioja embraces innovation and a far broader range of styles. Take Artuke and Sierra de Toloňo for example, two of the wineries taking part who belong to the Rioja’n’Roll group in the vanguard of innovative Rioja producers.

Raising a glass to Rioja’s unrivalled diversity, quality, value and pure joy, Bar Rioja Wine Festival will take place on Saturday, 14th June over two sessions: 12- 3pm and 3.30-6.30pm. Tickets are priced at £49.50 per person for early birds and subsequently £55 and can be purchased here.

Ticket price includes:
– A branded glass and holder for sampling 18 wines from 15 bodegas
– To eat: selection of pinchos, paella and freshly carved Ibérico Jamón – Booklet with information about the region and the wines

– Exclusive perks
