Strand Palace is launching its Christmas Afternoon Tea on December 4th – the perfect dose of much-needed festive cheer as London emerges from lockdown.

mcith_strand.jpgThe hotel has spent the last few weeks decking its halls in preparation for the arrival of the holiday season! Guests and visitors will finally be able to treat themselves to the new delectable festive Tea with all their favourite seasonal bites – the ideal way to relax after an afternoon of Christmas shopping or taking in the speculator Christmas lights illuminating The Strand.

Served in the spacious and opulent art deco tearoom at Haxells, the new Christmas Afternoon Tea brings to life the fragrant and familiar flavours of the holiday season that we all love and have most certainly missed.

Guests can tuck into savouries from Smoked Salmon & Charcoal Cone, Blue Stilton and Spinach Quiche and Arancini Wild Mushroom Capers & Raisin Purée. The delicate selection of sandwiches includes Cheddar & Tomato Chutney, Roast Honey Ham Cranberry Brioche and Salted Cucumber & Cream Dill.

Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the Christmas Fruit Cake with Jam, Marzipan & Icing; Snow White Lemon Meringue Tart; Custard Berry Trifle and the mouthwatering Snowflake & Raspberry Almond Financier.

The tea also comes complete with Frosty the Snowman, sure to put a smile on guests’ faces; and of course, traditional Mince Pies and a selection of traditional Scones with Strawberry Jam & Clotted Cream.

The festive Afternoon Tea is served in your own Strand Palace Christmas tree, hand-crafted inhouse by the hotel’s maintenance and engineering team.

Christmas Afternoon Tea is priced at £30 and is served with a selection of teas and coffees with the option to add a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut for an extra £10. It is served Fridays to Sundays until 31 December 12pm until 6pm, with the last serving at 5pm. The stands are also available to purchase at £35, perfect for recreating festive afternoon teas at home or as a decorative item.
