Truffle is the brainchild of Michelin trained, Tom Bickers and aims to elevate street food by using some of the world’s most luxurious ingredients and creating affordable and delicious street food.
On Monday next week they launch their newest venture which is their largest to date – a shipping container on Southbank serving a paired down street food menu with their Beef and Smoked Bacon Burger and for the first time an Aged Beef Burger and a vegetarian Beyond Meat Burger.
The container will be open seven days a week from 11am to 11pm up to the end of September.
Truffle’s Aged Beef Burger is a combination of different cuts of beef from the finest suppliers topped with smoked cheese, caramelised onion puree, truffle garlic sauce and pickles.
Truffle have gained a cult following for their signature Beef and Smoked Bacon burger – a combination of the finest quality beef and bacon blended into a patty with fig jam, crispy onion, raclette cheese and truffle mayonnaise and have sold over 30,000 since they started the business in February 2018.
Testament to their success, seven weeks after launch they were named in the Top 50 Street Food Traders by Time Out.
Truffle is riffed throughout the dishes to give them a decadent twist for a burger that has the perfect umami in every bite and most importantly holds together until the end.
Tom started his cooking journey at 14 in his local pub in Essex and honed his craft at Bib Gourmand Award Winning The Anchor pub under head Chef Daniel Watkins. During his days off and annual leave he would work in Michelin Starred restaurants including Restaurant Tom Aikens, Pollen Street Social & Restaurant Gordon Ramsay (Royal Hospital Road).
Truffle exploded onto the scene following a highly successful stint trading within Chelsea Flower Show last year and this year they are back and have teamed up with Living Windows to create a food truck that will be bursting with flowers and flavours.
