Opening March 16 and known for its 14-inch pies and neighbourhood vibe, the new two-floor restaurant introduces a walk-up “slice hatch” at street level, serving oversized 18-inch slices for grab-and-go

Upstairs, the first-floor dining room offers a more relaxed sit-down experience, plus a tucked-away outdoor terrace. The opening also brings new dishes created by Sicilian-born Head Chef Francesco Macrì, including Fat Cat Squares (Alley Cats’ take on Sicilian pizza), sub sandwiches like a Philly cheesesteak, deep-fried carbonara bites and aubergine parmigiana — alongside the classic whole pies and slices.

Upstairs keeps Alley Cats’ signature stripped-back look with exposed brick and warm, lived-in interiors overlooking the market below. Downstairs takes a more playful approach, designed by co-founder Ellie Noble with architect Nadia Sousa of Sousa Studios, featuring Italian flooring, a bespoke tie-dye awning and bold Alpi veneer joinery by Ettore Sottsass.

The new opening brings Alley Cats to one of London’s most iconic streets, blending Italian roots, NYC pizza culture and the energy of Portobello Road.
