Some of the best spots in London to enjoy a negroni or two
Over in Queen’s Park, Casa Felicia is offering £5 negronis all week. A neighbourhood favourite, the Neapolitan restaurant has become a go-to spot for locals, known for its take on authentic southern Italian cooking and drinks list to match.
At Around Bar in Exmouth Market, the cocktail bar is shining a spotlight on its Negroni specials from 14th – 30th September: a classic Negroni, Boulevardier and a Negroni Sgroppino (made using house-made orange sorbet) for £7. On Tuesday 29th September, the celebrations will round out with an ‘Around a Negroni’ tasting event at Around Bar, where guests can learn all about the Negroni and try 3x different Negroni cocktails for £30. Across town in Parsons Green, Aussie-inspired Stubby’s is handing the fate of the Negroni over to guests with their ‘Roll for a Negroni’ for £5. Guests will roll three dice to determine their spirit and vermouth, mixed with Campari. A Classic Negroni, Boulevardier and Dirty Negroni will also be available for £12.
Vietnamese Negroni at Co Thanh:
Co Thanh, which brings Vietnamese street food in an urban setting to central London, is launching a limited edition Vietnamese Negroni in celebration of National Negroni Week (21st – 27th September). The negroni is a punchy twist on the classic and will be available for £15. It contains rum which is fat washed with a spiced caramel, Campari and a Vietnamese coffee infused Vermouth. The drink can be enjoyed alongside the restaurant’s array of comfort dishes including Bun (noodle soup) and Banh Mi.
Two Sri Lankan Negroni Specials at Isso Prawn Crazy:
Canary Wharf’s newest Sri Lankan restaurant bringing the world’s biggest prawns to the UK is offering two specials for Negroni Week – the Ceylon Coconut White Negroni and a Kithul and Smoked Cardamom Negroni. The former blends Coconut-Fat-Washed Dry Gin (or Ceylon Roasted Coconut Gin) with Suze (or Luxardo Bitter Bianco), Lillet Blanc and dashes Grapefruit Bitters / dark orange bitters, served with a lemon twist and coconut chip. The second utilises Sri Lanka’s indigenous Kithul treacle, featuring London Dry Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, Dark Kithul Treacle, Green Cardamom Bitters and orange zest to finish.
Firebird’s take on a classic Negroni, made with mezcal instead of gin and infused with British strawberries. Rich and beautifully balanced, it combines the fruitiness of the strawberries with the subtle smokiness of the mezcal, making it the perfect cocktail for the colder autumn and winter months.
