Langan’s Brasserie is celebrating five decades at the heart of Mayfair with its biggest celebration of the year: a one-day-only 50th anniversary event on Tuesday 20 October.

From 11am until late, the iconic brasserie will bring together food, music, cocktails and five decades of Langan’s history for a day-to-night celebration inspired by the restaurant’s legendary early years. For one day only, selected dishes and drinks will be available at their original 1976 prices, with starters from £1 and mains from £4.50.

Throughout the day, Langan’s signature atmosphere will remain firmly at the heart of the celebration, with a live pianist setting the tone in the dining room. A specially curated anniversary menu will revisit dishes synonymous with the era, including Avocado Vinaigrette, Parma Ham & Melon and Crab & Prawn Cocktail, followed by classics such as Liver & Bacon with Pomme Purée, Dover Sole, Shepherd’s Pie and Lobster Thermidor.

Desserts will take guests on a nostalgic trip back to the 1970s, with Rum Baba, Bread & Butter Pudding, Profiteroles au Chocolat and Lemon Meringue Pie among the highlights.

The drinks offering will feature a selection of wines, champagnes and classic cocktails, including the French ‘76 — a sparkling combination of cognac and champagne — alongside enduring favourites such as the Cosmopolitan and Between the Sheets.

Upstairs, the celebrations will continue throughout the day, providing the perfect setting for pre- or post-dinner drinks before transforming into the main entertainment space for the evening.

A live band featuring three rotating singers will take guests on a musical journey through the decades, beginning in the 1970s and moving through the eras that have shaped Langan’s over the past 50 years. Later, a DJ will take over, keeping the celebrations going late into the night.

Photo opportunities will feature throughout the day and evening, capturing the glamour, characters and nostalgia that have become synonymous with Langan’s and its place in London’s social history.
