For two weeks only, Moët & Chandon will be bringing the Champagne Region to the heart of London. The’Moët Academy’ is an immersive, educational experience, which will take guests on a multi-sensory journey from grape to glass.

Ever wondered how Champagne is made and what differentiates it from sparkling wines?

From 13th to 24th April 2015, Masters of Wine Susie Barrie and Peter Richards will provide guests with their insider knowledge about all things’bubbly’ during private tasting sessions at Southbank’s OXO2. In several experience rooms, guests will be immersed into a re-creation of the iconic French vineyards and experience the magic of Champagne at first-hand, while taking in London’s panoramic views across the River Thames. This will be followed by an in-depth tasting, including the Moët & Chandon range.

Exclusive look behind the scenes of Champagne

Participants will be first invited to walk through rows of vines and to touch some grapes alongside original chalk from the vineyards. They will learn more about the region, its vineyards and the three distinctive Champagne grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.

Guests will then discover how Champagne is made, how base wines are turned into Champagne and how long it takes from vine to glass. “We are thrilled that our visitors will be able to learn about and experience the magic of the Champagne Region right here in the heart of London!”, says Mark Harvey, Marketing Manager Maison Moët.
