Spring has well and truly sprung and here are two new vintage rosé releases for you to try from Toro Loco and La Belle Angèle.

Toro Loco Superior Rosé 2024

Made with 100% Bobal grapes from Spain’s Utiel-Requena region, the grape’s heartland and just inland from Valencia, this perfectly salmon pink rosé is vibrant, crisp and refreshing and full of juicy raspberries and ripe cherries with a hint of citrusy zest.

Bobal thrives in the region due to its continental climate with Mediterranean influences creating hot, dry summers and cold winters, along with a significant diurnal temperature variation.

These conditions are ideal for Bobal and help the grapes to ripen fully while retaining good acidity and developing complex flavours.

Toro Loco Superior Rosé is a great wine for the lighter days and will be perfect with easy dinners like summery salads, prawns, salmon or chicken.

It’s also vegan, has lower levels of alcohol, comes in a lightweight bottle and is exceptional value for money at only £5.49 exclusively from Aldi

Alternatively, you can enjoy Toro Loco Superior Rosé as part of a summery spritz cocktail to enjoy with family and friends.

Toro Loco Rosé Spritzer:

6oz Toro Loco Rosé wine

½ – 1oz Elderflower cordial or liqueur

5-6 raspberries fresh or frozen

2-3oz seltzer or club soda

Ice cubes or optional berry ice cubes – freeze berries in orange juice in an ice cube tray (takes 3-4 hours)

La Belle Angèle

Perfectly pale pink in the bottle, La Belle Angèle is a Provence-style rosé bursting with flavours of peaches, raspberries and strawberries.

Produced from a balanced blend of Grenache and Cinsault from the Gers and the Languedoc, this rosé is fresh and lively with delicate fruity aromas.

Its fruit forward style makes it an ideal match with mid-week pizza night or a strawberry shortcake or just to sip in the sun, and it has a beautiful label featuring French Impressionists’ muse La Belle Angèle.

Availability from Majestic Wines at £9 per bottle.
