Cuban Theme at Sweeties with Eminente Rum
Sweeties, the sky-high cocktail bar at The Standard, London is partnering with Cuban rum brand Eminente to launch a selection of limited-edition rum cocktails inspired by the coasts and culture of Cuba.
You are probably very familiar with the red pill elevator right across the Kings Cross station. Well that’s The Standard’s lift that takes guests to the 10th floor where the classy Sweeties bar sits.
From August 2nd to August 19th , Sweeties will have floral displays from darling florists, Sage Flowers, who will draw inspiration from native flowers of Cuba in a colour palette of reds, yellows, and greens for a vibrant pop of colour to Sweeties usual pastel tones.
Alongside, botanical incense uplifts the space, from Vryao, the world’s first wellbeing brand to fuse healing with the power of fragrance. From the heady notes of tobacco, leather, cedar and fresh limes, guests will be transported straight to Cuba via Kings Cross.
To celebrate the partnership, The Standard’s resident flavouroligist and drinks consultant, Zoe Burgess, has created three limited edition Sweeties x Eminente concoctions. Each will embody the vibrancy of Cuban culture and traditions intensified and distilled in the rich and full-bodied rum poured liberally into each drink.
Putting a twist on classic formulas, the cocktails showcase deep aromas and complex flavours, creating heady drinks to enhance mood and enrich emotions.
Zoe’s creations include Cuban Sun, a twist on the classic Airmail cocktail. The Darling Guava is a take on the Daiquiri and Amber Fortune is a more laid-back rum Old Fashioned with Eminente Reserva.
Cocktails in the City
Cocktails in the City, London largest cocktail garden party, returns in August with the second installment of the 2023 Summer Series – The Travel Edition.
Taking place across three days from Thursday 17 – Saturday 19 August, the alfresco festival will showcase the latest trends and flavours from some of the city’s top bars such and give a taste of what’s to come across the season.
In between sampling world-class cocktails in the sunshine, festival goers will be able to delight in delicious street food, engage in one of the masterclasses or workshops and take in plenty of live entertainment and music, all set within the beautiful leafy gardens in Bloomsbury.
With each bar appearing at the festival in pop-up form, guests will experience world-famous signature serves and exclusive new creations from five-star hotel bars and secret speakeasies to the latest openings and industry hangouts. Guests can also enjoy non alcoholic creations, with each bar serving a non-alcoholic cocktail, all created using Everleaf’s non-alcoholic aperitifs.
Phantom Peak Immersive Experience
Following the success of The Platypus Parade, the UK’s first Open World Immersive Theme Park, Phantom Peak, has just launched ‘Summers Peak’.
Offering guests the vast outdoor sun-soaked town, complete with meandering canals, a flowing waterfall and relaxation areas to soak up the summer sun.
Phantom Peak is the perfect place to be outdoors, with brand new trails and summer-themed stories for inquisitive adventurers, alongside festival games for friends, families and colleagues – all located in a vibrant fictional town.
