Looking great, and performing perfectly, the range can be taken straight from oven or countertop to the table and then, for storing leftovers, to the fridge using the unique bamboo lids.

I like oven to table cookware. It makes life much easier, and it’s nice to dish food up at table so people can gaze in awe at your culinary creation and then get served the amount they desire. Nothing really looks as good as stoneware, and KitchenAid are ‘stone’ professionals at good looking kit.

These new dishes are made of high-quality glazed stoneware so the heat distributes evenly and are microwave and oven safe (up to 260°c) – great for roasting Christmas recipes and for re-heating leftovers.

The enamel cooking surface is also 100% natural and non-reactive, protecting the colour and taste of your food. The durable design is scratch resistant, metal utensil and dishwasher safe (excluding the lids which should be handwashed), ideal for intensive daily use and the clever nestable design takes up less space in kitchen cupboards.

We tried out a lasagne in the Pistachio small baker and it was just the right size for a 3 to 4 person lasagne, although the two of us actually ate most of it. The dishes have very good sized handles that are easily big enough to get a firm grip on even when sporting extra thick oven gloves. Once you’ve dropped a lasagne because your hands were burning, you never risk it again.

The leftovers went under the bamboo lid, which has a rubber seal to keep other fridge odours out, and the next day I warmed it up the dish in the microwave (without the lid) and ate it for lunch while standing by the sink. Not very Nigella I admit, but it tasted even better than the day before and I made sure the neighbours couldn’t see my shame.

Washing up was a breeze, the high glaze easily shrugging off the baked on cheese, but it is best to always pre-soak if possible to make it even easier. The glaze is diamond tough but the less you scrub the better.
