Who doesn’t like a Bloody Mary? Well obviously people that don’t drink alcohol, but you can get all the taste when you crack open a tin of Bloody.
Debate rages around what should go into a Bloody Mary or its vodka-less sister the Virgin Mary. Personally I put in so much Worcester Sauce that my drink is blacker than the cover of Spinal Tap’s Smell The Glove, how much more black could it be?
Whatever your choice of ingredients it can be a trial making one. Where’s the bloody Tabasco gone? It was here last week! And what happened to that last lemon?
The people behind Bloody have removed that faff by blending all the ingredients for us, not by committee but from their own meticulous taste testing of all the ingredients and hours of experimentation with ratios. Invited to try our own taste, we couldn’t resist and pitched up for early morning drinks in a Pimlico pub. What a way to start the day.
Inside each tin of their classic Bloody/Virgin Mary is tomato juice, (58 Distillery’s triple distilled vodka, Amontillado sherry), fresh lemon juice, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce, a dash of Kikkoman soy sauce, and the TABASCO® Brand Pepper Sauce. as well as various spices that are as secret as the Colonel’s chicken recipe.
Drink it chilled and straight out the tin like some kind of animal, or pour it into a glass, add a shot, and decorate with celery and olives for a more sopheeesteeecated drink. With all the mixing work done for you, the time saved is a godsend for busy drinkers
There is also a Bloody Mariko – Tomato juice, vodka, and fresh lemon juice blended with wasabi, pickled ginger, white miso, and soy.
Their website also offers garnishes such as Classic Salt – smoked salt, celery salt, onion salt, garlic salt, lemon pepper and smoked paprika, Bacon Salt (guess what’s in that) and Mariko Salt – Fine Sea Salt, Lemon Pepper, Yuzu Powder, Chilli, Orange Peel, Black Sesame, White Sesame, Ginger, Sichuan Peppercorns, Kelp powder, and Wasabi.
You can buy it all online at their site or from stores nationwide.
