Spicing Things Up: The New Limited Edition Cocktail From Mr Fogg’s And Old Forester Bourbon

Old Forester, America’s first bottled bourbon, has teamed up with Mr Fogg’s Residence to create a bespoke cocktail,’Old Kentucky Spiced‘, a rich and unusual creation.

The cocktail, designed by the team at Mr Fogg’s, is made with an exotic mix of ratafia, passion fruit puree and spiced marsala; paired with vanilla-infused Old Forester served with raisins and a sprig of basil to garnish.

Mr Fogg’s, the imaginary home of eccentric British adventurer Phileas J. Fogg is a truly unique venue where guests can enjoy the peculiar character of a bygone era, surrounded by an array of Victorian travelling souvenirs including hunting rifles, maps, flags and taxidermy.

First produced by George Garvin Brown in 1870, Old Forester is the only bourbon continuously distilled by the same family company before, during and after Prohibition.

The cocktail is available at the bar and is priced at £15

Recipe: Old Kentucky Spiced

Ingredients:

  • 45ml vanilla-infused Old Forester
  • 15ml ratafia
  • 15ml passion fruit puree
  • Half passion fruit pulp
  • 10ml spiced marsala wine [?]
  • 4 basil leaves
  • A handful of raisins
  • A sprinkling of icing sugar

Method: 

  • Mix everything into a shaker and shake well
  • Single strain onto crushed ice
  • Garnish with a sprig of basil, the passion fruit shell, raisins and a sprinkle of icing sugar
