The TimeSelect Digital Slow Cooker’s’Schedule Meal’ function automatically determines the correct cooking process based on the end mealtime, food type, and the quantity of food being cooked.

The end mealtime can be set for up to twelve hours before dinner is served, so being out all day no longer means coming home to an overcooked meal.

And thanks to its inbuilt memory, once the clock is set, it remembers the cooking time even when unplugged, meaning there’s no need to reset the TimeSelect Digital Slow Cooker every time it’s used.

Alternatively, those who have perfected their own slow cooking recipes can opt for’manual’ function with its programmable countdown timer and HIGH/LOW cook settings.

The automatic keep warm function also ensures food remains at an optimum temperature without overcooking, allowing for greater flexibility when serving or entertaining friends.

Time Select – Smokey Chilli Beef

“Time Select gives you more flexibility by allowing you to choose when you want your food to be ready. The minimum cook time for this recipe is 6 hrs the maximum is 12 hours. Time Select creates perfectly cooked food regardless of time.”

This recipe has minimal prep time, simply prepare the ingredients and add to the pot without any pre-cooking.

Serves 8-10

Prep time 10 minutes

1 kg lean minced beef

2 medium sized onions, diced

2 red peppers, diced

4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

2 tbsp chipotle paste

1 tbsp ground cumin

4 tbsp tomato puree

2 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes

200m water

2 x 400g tins red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

To serve – steamed rice, tortilla chips, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, chopped coriander, dried chilli flakes and salsa.

Place all the ingredients into the Crockpot bowl and stir well, covering with the lid

Ensure the digital clock on your Crockpot is displaying the correct time.

Select Schedule Meal.

Choose the Meat setting +1KG.

Adjust the hour and minutes you would like your food to be ready for, then press the flashing start 4button to begin cooking.

Serve with a selection of the above suggestions.

Time Select – Vegetable and Lentil Soup

This recipe requires no precooking of ingredients simply prepare the ingredients and add to the pot without any pre-cooking. Try and cut all the vegetables to roughly the same 2cm size.

Serves 8-10

Prep time 20 minutes

4 large carrots, approx. 400g, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, diced

1 large red pepper, diced

3 celery sticks, diced

500g new potatoes, diced

300g red lentils, rinsed and drained

150g kale, shredded

2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

2 bay leaves

2 litres vegetable stock To serve – dollop of Harissa, optional.

Place all the ingredients into the Crockpot bowl and stir well, covering with the lid.

Ensure the digital clock on your Crockpot is displaying the correct time.

Select Schedule Meal.

Choose the Soup setting, Full Pot .

Adjust the hour and minutes you would like your food to be ready for, then press the flashing start 4button to begin cooking.

If you prefer your soup to have a blended texture, (remove the bay leaves) and allow to cool before blending.

Tip- Why not just blend half of the soup, so you have a combination of a smoother soup with some chunkier vegetables.

Finish with a dollop of harissa, stir well and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve with some toasted sourdough bread.

Time Select – Korean Kimchee Pork

Some of the Korean ingredients in this recipe you may not be familiar with but don’t let this put you off, these can be found readily available in Asian supermarkets or from online stockists.

Serves 8-10

Prep time 30 minutes

1.5kg boneless pork shoulder cut into 3-4cm chunks

3 tbsp chilli bean paste (gochujang)

3tbsp soya bean or miso paste (doenjang)

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 medium onions, sliced

6 garlic cloves, finely chopped

200g kimchee

2 bunches spring onions, diagonally slice each onion into 3 pieces

250g chestnut mushrooms, sliced

To serve – Steamed rice, soy sauce, sweet red pepper flakes, extra kimchee

Place the chilli and soya bean pastes into a large bowl and mix together. Add the cubed pork and stir well to coat all the pieces.

Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes. (pork can also be marinated the day before for even greater depth of flavour)

Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the sliced onions and begin to stir fry until the onions start to colour. Turn down the heat and cook gently until golden brown, this will take about 10-15 minutes.

Stir in the garlic and cook for a further minute.

Spoon the onions into your crockpot bowl, add the marinated pork, kimchee, spring onions, sliced mushrooms and 100ml of water.

Stir well, covering with the lid.

Ensure the digital clock on your Crock Pot is displaying the correct time.

Select Schedule Meal.

Choose the Meat setting +1KG.

Adjust the hour and minutes you would like your food to be ready for, then press the flashing start 4button to begin cooking.

Serve alongside some steamed rice and garnish with a drizzle of soy sauce, red pepper flakes and some extra kimchee on the side.
