It’s cold out there. At least it is for us Soft Southerners, our Geordie art director maintains ‘ye is all poofs man! This is t -shirt wevver where I come from, ye knaa’. Mebbe so, like.

So we need warming up and Bob Bob Ricard has the answer.

Bob Bob Ricard, or BBR as it’s allegedly known, is an all day restaurant and members bar with a menu of English comfort food and an interior that aims to recreate the luxury and style found in Edwardian travel. It’s adding a trio of Winter Warmer Cocktails, specially created for the colder winter months, to its cocktail list.

Sitting alongside BBR’s signature mainstays such as the Berry & Almond Martini (Strawberries, Amaretto, Fragoli, Stolichnaya Raspberry, Lemon Juice and Fresh Apple £9.50) and the Rhubarb Gin & Tonic (£7.50) the Winter Warmer Cocktails are:

Gooseberry Ginger and Rum Hot Toddy – Santa Teresa Claro, Lemongrass Ginger Cordial, Lemon Juice and Gooseberry Jam (£8.50)

Hot Winter Pimms – Pimms NO3, Goldschlager, Apple Juice, Lemon Juice and Gomme Syrup (£8.50)

Hot Pink Lemonade with Honey and Cognac – Hine Vsop, Lemon Juice, Cranberry Juice and Honey (£9.50)

The interior at BBR is far from cold either. Integrating a mixture of textures and materials in an array of colours with Cubist chandeliers hanging from a high Venetian-mirrored ceiling. Ancestral portraits, well they must be somebody’s ancestors, hang on patterned walls and in the private dining section, dark wood lined walls house eccentric antiques.

Curtained booths form the layout of the restaurant and bar. Designed for groups between 2 and 8, and with special tables for solo guests, the booths act as a main design feature, paying homage to the interiors of luxurious trains such as the Orient Express;
