We attended the sold out summer project in a working steelyard in Vauxhall this year so it’s good to know that the Dram & Smoke lads are back at it this winter in a brand new venue in London Bridge, in a warehouse space that was once a leather tannery.

Created by Edinburgh natives Paul Ross & Nick Fulton, the Dram & Smoke idea stemmed from their love of the amazing produce that comes from the natural larder that is Scotland. “We want to big-up a range of outstanding dishes inspired by our home country in a fun pop-up environment and maybe elevate a few ideas about Scottish cuisine along the way!” says Head Chef, Nick.

As before, guests can expect Scottish produce and Highland hospitality – five courses served up family-style at communal tables alongside a solid soundtrack, party atmosphere, candlelight and an ample supply of tartan blankets. The silly season vibe will be helped along with a top-drawer booze selection that includes gin-on-tap, a range of craft beers from Scottish heavy hitters Brewdog and a short wine list.

Monkey Shoulder are taking up residence in a pop-up Whisky den within the warehouse space. Hot toddies? Check.

When it comes to the five course tasting menu, a custom-built whisky barrel smoker takes centre stage in creating a number of elements that guests receive as part of their £40 ticket. The winter menu, served from an open kitchen, includes hearty dishes such as Haggis Bon Bons with Smoked Ketchup and an epic main course of Venison Wellington with Bramble & Ale Sauce that guests can carve at the table.

That classic Scottish breakfast porridge even gets a look-in. Dram & Smoke’s version uses smoked bacon and blue cheese for a savoury twist. To finish up, the summer project’s deep-fried Mars Bar dessert gives way to Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Mousse served with Salted Whisky Butterscotch and huge sharing shortbreads.

And for those looking for a Christmas party minus the floppy party hats and stale ambiance, the pop-up is also available for full private hire throughout the festive period. So, if you’re looking for great scran, free-flowing bevvy and a touch of general flumgummerie, check out Dram & Smoke this winter.
