This year, the good people at St Ermin’s are celebrating  the summer with Provence’s signature drink, rosé wine, on The Terrace at St Ermin’s Hotel, Westminster.

mcith_rose1.JPGAnd what a lovely terrace it is, despite being in the centre of town it overlooks a lovely green courtyard. A verdant spot free of traffic noise and fumes and rather theatrical.

We went to the launch, lured by the pulling power of pink on a sunny day, to get a few chilled glasses and try some of the Provençal food

Château la Gordonne is the rosé wine served with all their range rosés available by the glass, the bottle, the flight and even a selection of frozen cocktails including the Frozé featuring Les Gravieres Rosé, strawberry and lemon – perfect for a warm summer’s evening.

A new bar menu of Provençal dishes using fresh ingredients from the hotel’s rooftop garden and authentic French cooking complemented the rosés.

Smaller plates include Panisse – chickpea fries with Roquefort cheese dip and herb sea salt and Pissaladière – black olive and anchovy pizza with sharing plates ofFrench cured charcuterie and cheese with figs, chutney and baguette and Légumes grilles and garlic bread.

All very delicious and bound to be a big draw as the summer starts to heat up
