Parrillan, the critically acclaimed terrace bar and grill restaurant from the team behind Barrafina, will re-open in its autumn / winter incarnation on 6th October.

Parrillan has become known for its, partially covered terrace and table-top grills where guests cook portions of meat, seafood and vegetables for themselves.

This October, Parrillan will change into its autumn wardrobe, with protection against the cold and a menu adapted to warm guests from the inside.

There are glass sides to guard against the wind and rain, as well as heaters to protect against the cooler temperatures. There will also be sheepskins and heated blankets attached to the chairs for extra warmth.

Seasonal foliage will be woven into garlands; and a touch of fir and fur here and there will be applied for the festive period. The parrillas will always be set up on the tables for guests before they arrive, providing extra warmth.

The menu follows its usual format of para picar, things for the parrilla, sides, arroces and desserts, adapted to suit the season. The para picar list includes Torta de Cañarejal Cheese (£18), handmade unpasteurised cheese with milk from the Awasi sheep from Valladolid, Castilla y Leon.

For the parrilla, there will be items to grill such as Pintxo de Txistorra sausage (£6.50), Iberian Pork Lagarto with Alioli (£12), Lamb Pintxo Moruno skewers (£14) and 25-Day Aged Hereford Beef Sirloin with Romesco (£17).

The Arroces section of the menu will now include soups and stews as well as rice. There will be a pumpkin and lentil soup (£12), and Asturian Fabada with pancetta, chorizo and morcilla (£14), and Arroz al Horno for 2, with pork ribs, sobresada and chickpeas (£39).

There will be two dessert options, Idiazabal cheesecake (£8), made from sheep’s milk to add a rich nutty flavour that is accentuated by the burnt crust, and homemade marshmallows for the parrilla (£8.50).

On the drinks menu; Hot Sangria (£10), a Sherry Spritz (£11.50), a Chestnut Negroni (£12), a Choco Loco hot chocolate with hierbas (£11), and a ‘Red Port Stinger’ (£12.50).

Bookings can be made via www.parrillan.co.uk, and walk-in tables will also be available.
