Join The Cinnamon Club this Autumn for a series of one-off spirit tasting events, sampling premium and unique spirits paired with Head Chef Rakesh Ravindran Nair’s modern Indian plates.

Set within the Old Library Bar in the Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library, each evening will educate and entertain with an ambassador from each brand on hand to talk through the history, culture and taste of each tipple.

Johnnie Walker Whisky – 13th September (£55 per head)

As owners of some of the rarest single malts in the world and one of the oldest whisky blenders, Johnnie Walker is committed to quality. Tastings of Black, Platinum, Gold and Blue label will be served straight and paired with seven delicately spiced, modern Indian plates.

Begin the evening by sampling the classic Black label, perfectly paired with an in-season game roll with smoked paprika raita; followed by the Platinum 18-year-old label complemented by char-grilled guinea fowl with mace and cardamom.

The rare Blue label – where only one in every ten thousand casks delivers the elusive quality and signature taste to make the cut – pairs with a delicate shrimp curry with coconut and green mango sauce, whilst the luxurious honeyed Gold label will satisfy any sweet tooth alongside Rakesh’s honeycomb crumble.

Casa Agave Tequila – 20th September (£45 per head)

Boutique Tequila and Mezcal distributors Casa Agave are passionate about high quality Agave drinks, bringing the true Mexican drinking culture to the UK. Guests will be greeted with a classic Paloma cocktail featuring sprightly Amatitlan Blanco tequila from Mexican family-run distillery Triangulo, agave syrup and freshly-pressed pink grapefruit before moving onto flawlessly matched neat measures and elegant bowl foods.

The Amatitlan Blanco tequila will be served with stir-fried shrimps and curry leaf whilst the Cinnamon-scented Reposado tequila will be complemented by char-grilled venison escalope with Rajasthani soola spices and a lamb seekh kebab in roomali bread with mango and mint sauce.

Come dessert, sweet Anejo tequila will be paired with an Original Beans bitter chocolate and walnut pudding and an incredibly smooth toffee vanilla panna cotta.

Chase Distillery – 27th September (£65 per head for seven dishes & spirit tasters)

Voted the World’s Best Vodka by the prestigious San Francisco Spirits Competition, Chase Vodka is the world’s first super premium English potato vodka, which is also redistilled to make their gin and is made on their family farm in Herefordshire.

Start with a William’s GB&T, their signature award-winning gin, then take your seat for expertly matched canapés and a classic Biryani paired with Chase’s uniquely flavoured vodkas. Chase Rhubarb Vodka will be paired with a tangy fruit chaat in a semolina shell, whilst the Naked Chase Apple Vodka can be sampled alongside Scottish scallop ceviche.

The classic English Oak Smoked Vodka pairs beautifully with tandoori chicken tikka and smoked paprika raita, whilst guests can finish with Chase Marmalade Vodka and a decadent dark chocolate mousse.

Sipsmith – 11th October (£55 per head)

Champions in the art of traditional gin production, Sipsmith specialises in genuinely small-batch gin in sublimely sippable flavours. The iconic London Dry Gin with a zesty, citrus finish will be served with cured salmon’Jhal muri’ and scallop and tuna ceviche, whilst the wintery flavoursome Sloe gin pairs beautifully with a gamey grilled duck with sesame tamarind and tandoori partridge with pumpkin chutney.

The famous V.J.O.P – a Very Junipery Over Proof gin – can be sampled alongside roast saddle of lamb, onion and rock moss sauce with pilau rice and to finish, a stem ginger tiramisu and chocolate and orange sphere will be expertly matched to Sipsmith’s Earl Grey tea-infused London Cup.
