Mr Ji, a take on Taiwanese fried chicken, pops-up for five weeks only in Camden Town from Monday 6th November.

Helping to feed London’s obsession with fried chicken, Mr Ji (Ji meaning chicken in Taiwanese) will offer diners a fast food experience inspired by the bustling night markets of Taipei, Taiwan’s capital city.

On the menu, re-interpreted by head chef Simon Whiteside (the creative brain behind award-winning Hook in Camden Town), which is accidently gluten-free, you’ll find the‘Big Ji’, a large chicken breast, butterflied and flattened, the Ã¢â‚¬ËœHalf Ji and the Ã¢â‚¬ËœMini Ji’s, bitesize crispy fried chicken thighs, all of which are 100% free range chicken, marinated in a chilli, garlic, ginger and five spice mix then fried in a crisp Taiwanese coating.

Choose your chicken and then choose your power powder, here traditional dipping sauces have been replaced with a selection making for a far lighter food experience, options include cayenne, ketchup, BBQ, curry and Mr Ji’s secret mix.

Mr Ji’s Ã¢â‚¬ËœChicken Tips’ provide something extra – crispy fried chicken wing tips seasoned with seven spice powder. There’s also the Hot and Sour Soup with chicken, zesty mustard greens and pickle

Plus Sweet Potato Fries, seasoned with a unique plum powder or Warm Sweet Potato and Ginger Doughnuts glazed with a ginger sugar either.

In Taiwan, it is customary to enjoy a freshly-made infused Taiwanese tea with fried chicken, so at Mr Ji  try the jasmine, blood orangeand hibiscus or oolong, lemon & honey tea to refresh the palate and balance the spiciness of the fried chicken. There’s also an option to’spike’ your tea with a shot of whisky, vodka or gin.
