With plans to open its doors on West Dulwich’s Rosendale Road put on hold by current restrictions, new Indian fine-dining concept Heritage is take away.

Putting a contemporary spin on traditionally grounded recipes, Heritage Home Dining will bring nostalgic family-taught dishes and unusual foods from lesser-known Indian regions and communities straight to your door.

Available to order for delivery to a range of South London postcodes, Heritage’s specially designed collection and delivery menu is the brainchild of Executive Chef Dayashankar Sharma. With over 30 years of experience – much of it gleaned in Michelin-starred Indian kitchens including Tamarind and Zaika – the creative menu showcases vibrant and interesting flavour combinations, continually redefining Indian cuisine, while keeping faithful to recipes passed down through the generations.

Perfectly packaged for two people (or more), the dedicated at home menu offers a bijou choice of set dining sharing boxes. The classic Heritage Rajputana (£42 for two) features signature dishes due to appear on the restaurant menu including Mysore Bonda, Murge Makhani, Kasmiri Lamb, Masala Aloo and Dal Makhani. Vegetarian and vegan diners are well catered for with dedicated at home menus for both available (£38 for two), while meat-lovers can indulge in the dedicated Heritage Grill menu (£42 for two), which includes Chicken Malai Tikka and Lucknowi Murgh Kebab alongside a plethora of sides, breads and salads. For a taste of holiday from home, the luxurious Costal Sack (£45.95) comes straight from the ocean – expect Masala Seabass, Prawn Curry, Grilled Salmon and everything else you need for a feast to remember.  Each of the set menus also includes regional breads, rices, chutneys and sides.

For those who prefer to order à la carte, small plates such as Makai & Palak Tikki – sweet corn and spinach cake stuffed with golden raisin – will be available before a choice of kebabs, tikkas, biryanis and main courses such as Kemma Mutter (infused lamb mince with brown onion, tomato and nutmeg) and Murgh Makhani, smoked chicken supreme cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with fenugreek. There’s also sides, rices and regional Indian breads aplenty – so if you know your Peshawari from your Paratha, you’re in luck!

The dedicated menu will be available to order via the website Tuesday-Sunday, with delivery available within a 2.5 mile radius of the restaurant during lockdown: www.heritagedulwich.co.uk.
