Building on the success of his award-winning restaurant in Islington, Morgan Meunier is opening on Long Lane in Barbican. Morgan M Barbican, a new two-storey restaurant, with a seasonally focused menu.

The tasting plates menu offers a selection of smaller versions of Morgan’s signature dishes including his ravioli of snails in Chablis, garlic froth and red wine jus and seared pressed foie gras with fig caviar and toasted brioche.

The set lunch menu comes in at just £21.50 for two courses and £25.50 and includes dishes such as pavé of turbot ‘meunière’, leek fondue, mushroom ravioli, celeriac purée, girolle veloute and Deben Valley Mallard duck ‘aux epices’ with the breast roasted and the leg braised with a red wine and liquorice jus.

Tasting menus are also on offer, with the Autumn Menu, at £50 per person for lunch and dinner, offering six courses with choices such as butternut soup with rosemary and olive oil and wild mushroom tempura and oven roasted Red Leg Suffolk partridge with chicory’ tarte tatin’, liver ravioli and bread sauce. Desserts include a pineapple soufflé and coulis with pina colada sorbet.

Morgan M will also offer a vegetarian tasting menu including dishes such as Autumn salad of white coco beans ‘de Paimpol’, confitt tomato and artichoke, French beans, lime and garlic dressing.

Before opening Morgan M on Liverpool Road, which was graced with numerous awards including Harden’s ‘Best French Restaurant”, Morgan had worked as head chef at a number of award winning restaurants including ‘The Admiralty’ Restaurant at Somerset House and Michelin-starred restaurants such as ‘Monsieur Max’ in London and ‘Les Pres d’Eugenie’ in the South of France.
