Now in its third year, The Galvin Festival of Food & Drink is a weeklong celebration of the finest in French food, drink and hospitality.
This year’s festival honours Galvin’s Food Heroes; a group of twelve suppliers who have received the monthly Galvin Outstanding Supplier Award over the past year. Each of the head chefs across the seven Galvin restaurants have been given the same list of ingredients from Chris and Jeff’s Food Heroes with which to create their own unique menu – in short it is their version of Ready, Steady, Cook! The menus, a reflection of each chef’s interpretation, will be available in the restaurants from Monday 11 to Sunday 17 May.
Launched last March the Galvin Outstanding Supplier Award recongises their finest suppliers based on a set of judging criteria which include the best in quality, seasonality and regionality, along with any training and field visits that supported team knowledge. During the week long festival, the very suppliers that have been chosen to win the awards will be visiting the restaurants to meet and greet guests, giving them the opportunity to discuss topics of provenance and sustaninlibilty, allowing them exclusive insight and understanding of the journey from farm to fork.
Each occasion has been created to reflect the unique character of the Galvin collection; including the return of the much-loved Apple Tarte Tatin baking competition at Galvin Bistrot de Luxe on Baker Street and’A Taste of Galvin’, a garden party to be held at Gavlin Café a Win on Friday 15th May.
There will also be an assortment of gastronomic prizes to be won from a VIP Laurent-Perrier Tasting at Taste London to a decadent food hero hamper which will comprise the finest selection of ingredients from the Galvin Outstand Supplier Award winners.
